Wherry Olive On Fleet Dyke
Fleet Dyke February 2021
Fleet Dyke is a water channel that joins South Walsham Broad to the Bure river at St Benet's Abbey. Always worth watching the edge for movement and bubbles, might be an Otter.
A few Wherrys can be hired for day trips or longer, see https://www.wherryyachtcharter.org/
Short Canoe trip up to St Benet's Abbey
Anglo-Saxon monastery which is the only monastery in England which was not closed down by Henry VIII and the Bishop of Norwich is still the Abbot. And, more importantly, a good area to see an Otter or a Crane.
Harvest with St Benet's Abbey in the background - 22nd August 2020
Wonder if a great painter would have painted the combine harvester........cows in the frame also.
